PrairieThunder changes game time

Bloomington PrairieThunder officials have decided to move the start time of Sunday's United Hockey League game with the Quad City Mallards to 4:05 p.m. at U.S. Cellular Coliseum so Chicago Bears' fans can watch the NFL playoff game in its entirety. The Bears' playoff game begins at noon.

The ticket office will open at 10 a.m. Tickets also may be purchased on-line at www.uscellularcoliseum.com Tickets are priced at $10, $12, $15 and $20.

Sunday's game, which was originally scheduled for 3:05 p.m., has been designated as Pantagraph/Insight Kids Day. Tickets, which are normally priced at $12, will be on sale for $6 to children 12 and under. Also, a Kids Meal (hot dog, chips and soda) will be available at concession stands throughout the Coliseum.

There also will be an appearance by SpongeBob Squarepants during the game, compliments of Insight.

The Corn Palace Restaurant will open at 2:30 p.m. for buffet customers. The buffet, priced at $14.75, will be available by reservation-only from 2:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. Phone 309-434-2843 to make buffet reservations. Customers at the Corn Palace Restaurant will be able to order from the regular menu at 3:30 p.m.

The PrairieThunder plays three games this week, beginning with a 7 p.m. contest Friday vs. Quad City in Moline. The PrairieThunder plays at U.S. Cellular Coliseum on Saturday and Sunday. Bloomington faces Port Huron at 7:05 p.m. Saturday and Quad City at 4:05 p.m. Sunday. The ticket office opens at 10 a.m. Saturday, which is also the day the World Champion St. Louis Cardinals Caravan will be at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.

Pitchers Anthony Reyes and Brad Thompson, along with utility player Aaron Miles and former St. Louis standout pitchers Danny Cox and Al Hrabosky, will appear from noon until 2 p.m.

There will be a question and answer session along with a live auction of Cardinals' memorabilia during the program. Tickets are $7 and can be purchased at the Coliseum box office. Proceeds go to the American Junior Baseball Association.
