Player Notes: Gerard Miller leads the Generals with 28 points on 9 goals and 19 assists...Jason Selleke and Jeff Zehr lead the team with 12 goals...Shawn Snider has recorded at least one point in each of his first three games with the Generals scoring one goal with four assists...Jan Jas is on a four game point scoring streak going back to November 19 before he went on the IR...Jason Muzzatti has won each of his last two starts.

Team Notes: The Generals 39 games played this season is most of any UHL team...The Generals have the second best power play at 19.3% and best road power play at 19.0%...The Generals penalty kill is sixth in the league at 83.0%...The Generals are outscoring their opponents 45-43 in the second period, their best period for goal differential...The Generals are second in the league in shots on goal against at 30.08.

Friday, January 5 Elmira 1 @ Flint 8

The Generals ended a four game losing streak with their largest margin of victory this season. The eight goals scored by the Generals, six on the power play, were season highs in both categories. Mike Kinnie recorded the first hat trick of the season for a Generals player with all three of his goals being scored in the second period. Bobby Reynolds added two goals with Jan Jas, Jan Eriksson and Jordan Fox each scoring one. The Generals led 8-0 before Elmira scored with 4:33 remaining in the game, spoiling the shutout bid by Jason Muzzatti. Muzzatti made 28 saves on 29 shots for the win.

Saturday, January 6 Elmira 2 @ Flint 1

After scoring eight goals the previous night, the Generals could only manage one goal against the Jackals in this game. Elmira took a 1-0 lead with a power play goal 4:23 of the second period. The Generals tied the game 1-1 at 16:56 of the second period with their own power play goal. Shawn Snider scored his first goal with the Generals from Gerard Miller and Jan Jas. Elmira broke the tie at 2:56 of the third period and held on for the 2-1 win. Bryan Worosz made 24 saves on 24 shots in the loss.

Sunday, January 7 Flint 6 @ Fort Wayne 5

The Generals played the Komets for the third time this season, the second time in Fort Wayne. Flint entered the game 0-1-1 against Fort Wayne, 0-1-0 in the Komets arena. The Komets took a 2-0 lead with a pair of goal in the first 5:44 of the game. The Generals resonded with three first period goals, one on the power play, to take a 3-2 lead. The goals were scored by Martin Ondrej, Shaun Fisher and Terry Marchant. Jan Jas scored a second period power play goal to give Flint a 4-2 lead at 1:07. Fort Wayne got back to within one goal with a power play goal at 5:03. The Generals increased their lead to 6-3 with a pair of goals by Jordon Fox. His first goal was a power play goal at 11:56 and his second goal was at 16:05. The Komets scored two more second period goals to make it a 6-5 game after two periods of play. There was no scoring in the third period as the Generals beat the Komets for the first time this season. Jason Muzzatti made 22 saves on 27 shots for the win. Bryan Worosz played the third period and made seven saves on seven shots.

PREVIEW OF UPCOMING GENERALS GAMES January 8 - January 14

Wednesday, January 10 Flint @ Muskegon 10:30a.m.

The Generals are 1-5-0 against the Fury this season, 1-2-0 in Muskegon. The Fury has outscored the Generals 25-9 this season with two shutouts against the Generals. The game is at 10:30 a.m. for schools in Muskegon to bring students to the game.

Friday, January 12 Flint @ Elmira 7:35p.m.

The Generals travel to Elmira for the second time this season. The Generals are 2-4-1 against the Jackals this season 0-1-1 in Elmira.

Saturday, January 13 Flint @ Elmira 7:35p.m.

This will be the fourth game of the season for the Generals in Elmira and middle game of a three game series over the weekend.

Sunday, January 14 Flint @ Elmira 4:05p.m.

The Generals end a three game series in Elmira and a five game stretch away from home with this game. The Generals return to Elmira on March 2 for their final regular season game in Elmira.

Generals Player of the Week:

The Generals Player of the Week is Jan Jas. Jas posted six points in three games on two goals and four assists. These were the first games for Jas since going on the IR on November 20.

Generals Goaltender of the Week:

The Generals Goaltender of the Week is Jason Muzzatti. Muzzatti went 2-0-0 in two games played last week. In those games he had a goals against average of 3.60 and a save percentage of .893.
