Power's Luplow Named SAL Player-Of-The-Week

Charleston, WV (August 10, 2015) - The South Atlantic League has announced its Player-of-the-Week for the

period of August 3 to August 9 and West Virginia Power third baseman Jordan Luplow was honored for his efforts during that span. Luplow, a third round selection by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 2014 First-Year Player Draft, hit .414 during the week with ?two home runs, four doubles, six RBIs, seven walks, and a league-best 11 runs.

Luplow hit .235 with three home runs and 26 RBIs in 53 games prior to the South Atlantic League All-Star Game and is hitting .304 with seven home runs and 31 RBIs in 41 games since the break. Since July 1, Luplow is hitting .323 with 16 doubles.

Pittsburgh took Luplow out of Fresno State where the former Bulldog was named Mountain West Player-of-the-Year last season. In his final year with the Bulldogs, Luplow hit .377 with nine home runs and 48 RBIs.

Luplow is the second West Virginia player to be honored by the league this season. Previously, outfielder Michael Suchy was named Player-of-the-Week for the week of June 29 to July 6.
