
Power, Suns Split Double Dip

(Hagerstown, MD- April 28, 2015)- The West Virginia Power split a pair of games with the Hagerstown Suns at Municipal Stadium on Tuesday. The Power won the conclusion a suspended game on April 15 by a 10-2 final before losing 6-2 in the regularly scheduled game.
When play was suspended at Appalachian Power Park, the Suns led 1-0 in the bottom of the second inning. Play resumed at Municipal Stadium on Tuesday and West Virginia plated five runs in the bottom of the second, including an run-scoring single by Kawika Emsley-Pai and a two run home run by Pablo Reyes.
The Power added three runs in the third and another pair in the fourth to put the Suns away. Miguel Rosario made the start on the 15th and returned when play resumed. Rosario (2-0) earned the complete game victory while striking out five and walking three. Ryan Ullmann (1-1) took the loss after allowing all ten runs on eight hits.
In Tuesday's regularly scheduled game, the Suns took the lead in the second on an Austin Davidson home run. Jose Marmolejos tripled in a run in the third and Davidson's second home run of the game gave Hagerstown a 3-0 lead after four innings.
In the top of the fifth, West Virginia cut the deficit down to one. Jerrick Suiter scored on a wild pitch before Cole Tucker drove in Chase Simpson to put the Power behind 3-2. Hagerstown responded with a three-run home half of the inning to close the scoring.
Alex McRae (1-2) allowed all six runs on ten hits over four-plus innings in the loss. Conner Bach started for the Suns, but did not factor in the decision despite striking out eight. David Ramos (1-2) pitched the final three innings for his first win of the season.
The Power and Suns continue their series on Wednesday night at 7:05 pm. Dovydas Neverauskas and Luis Reyes are the scheduled starters for West Virginia and Hagerstown, respectively.
