
Power shut out

Charleston Dirty Birds News Release
(Charleston, WV) The West Virginia Power were shut out by the Lexington Legends on Friday night at Appalachian Power Park 4-0. The Legends took the first lead with a run in the fifth before blowing the game wide open with three in the sixth.
After Luis Heredia had not allowed a hit through the first four innings, Lexington led off the fifth with a single by Elier Hernandez followed by a Dex Kjerstad RBI triple.
The Legends added to their advantage with three more in the sixth when Kjerstand doubled in three runs to give Lexington a lead they would not let go of.
Luis Heredia (1-4) was charged with the loss despite allowing just one earned run while Matt Tenuta (5-8) earned the win. Pedro Fernandez (2) tallied the save. Tenuta tossed six scoreless innings allowing just three hits. West Virginia had just one base runner reach scoring position on the night.
