Greenville, SC - Friday night's contest at Fluor Field was never in doubt, as the Rome Braves (16-25, 40-71) jumped out to an early lead and never looked back in a 5-1 win over the Greenville Drive (10-31, 44-66).

Drive starter Jamie Callahan (2-10) issued a four-pitch walk to Connor Oliver to lead off the game, and he moved to second on a passed ball, advanced to third on a deep flyout to left and came in to score on a groundout by Sean Godfrey.

The Braves struck for four more runs against Callahan. Carlos Franco doubled in the fifth and scored on a Drive error, and Ross Wilson smacked a three-run homer over the Green Monster to chase Callahan from the game in the sixth.

The runs were more than enough support for Rome starter Tyler Brosius (4-7), who fired seven shutout frames for his third win of the season against the Drive, and he has allowed just two unearned runs in 19 innings in those three appearances.

Jason Garcia's outstanding relief outing was a bright spot for the Drive, as he hurled three and two third hitless, scoreless innings while walking one and punching out four.

Cole Sturgeon collected two hits for Greenville, including a ninth-inning RBI single to break up the shutout. Wendell Rijo added a pair of hits.

Game three of the four-game series at Fluor Field begins at 7:05 on Saturday night. RH Teddy Stankiewicz (7-7, 4.40) starts on the mound for the Drive, and LH Matt Marksberry (4-6, 3.43) takes the ball for the Braves.
