(Charleston, W. Va.) Matt Tenuta and Pedro Fernandez combined for a four-hit shutout, and Dex Kjerstad drove in all four runs as the Lexington Legends blanked the West Virginia Power 4-0 Friday night.

The Legends didn't get a hit off West Virginia starter Luis Heredia through the first four innings. But Elier Hernandez led off the fifth with a single and scored on Kjerstad's triple to center field.

In the sixth, the Legends had two outs and no one on base when Mauricio Ramos reached first on a throwing error by shortstop JaCoby Jones. Chad Johnson singled to right field, sending Ramos to third, and Hernandez walked to load the bases. Kjerstad lined a double into right center field, scoring all three runners. Kjerstad was thrown out trying for third to end the inning, but the 4-0 lead stood up.

Kjerstad also had a single in the ninth inning, and threw out a runner at second base from right field in the sixth.

Tenuta (5-8) allowed three hits in six innings as he earned his fifth victory.

Fernandez pitched the last three innings, allowed one hit, struck out six batters and walked none. He picked up his second save.

Heredia (1-4) took the loss.

The Legends have taken the first two games in the series, which continues Saturday night. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
