Louico: Allowed 1 R on 3 H over 3.0 relief IP on 6/15 vs. KAN (Making first start of the 2012 season)

POWER REPLAY: West Virginia beat Delmarva 7-2 on Friday night. The Power took a 2-0 lead in the first on a Gregory Polanco run-scoring double and a run-scoring wild pitch by shorebirds starter Miguel Chalas. Alen Hanson extended the lead with a two run homer in the fifth; his 12th long ball this season. The Birds halved the deficit with two runs in the seventh, but the Power added three in the eight to claim the series opener. Zack Von Rosenberg pitched six shutout innings and struck out six in his first win of the season.

MERCURY RISING: Alen Hanson's hitting streak has hit ten games with a pair of hits last night. The Power shortstop's current streak dates back to June 16 and he is batting .457 during this stretch. Hanson's longest streak this year was 16 games in April and was the longest in the league until earlier this month when Kannapolis's Mark Haddow hit safely in 17 straight.

MONTERO MOVES BACK: Prior to Friday's game at Delmarva, the Pittsburgh Pirates promoted Joan Montero (pronounced Joe- AHN) to the West Virginia roster from State College. Montero has pitched at three level this season, including a brief stint for the Power from April 30 though May 11. The right-hander had no wins or losses for Bradenton over two games with a 13.50 ERA, had no wins or loss with 23.40 ERA for the Power, and had a 2-0 record for State College with a spotless ERA of 0.00.

BRING ON THE BIRDS: After Friday night's win, West Virginia leads the all-time series with Delmarva by one victory. The teams have played 95 times since 2005 and the Power now lead 48-47. The Power and Shorebirds will meet 12 more times in the second half of the year, including four more time during this set in Salisbury, MD.

SEE YOU REAL SOON: West Virginia is coming off a four game series split against Lakewood. The BlueClaws now lead the all-time series 54-46, though the Power won't have to wait long to change that. West Virginia hosts Lakewood from July 4 though 8 at Appalachian Power Park.

DOUBLE-A ALL-STARS: Former Power All-Stars Ramon Cabrera (2010) and Brandon Cumpton (2011) have been selected to participate in the 2012 Eastern League All-Star Game on July 11 at Reading's FirstEnergy Stadium. It is the third straight season Cabrera, batting .241 with two home runs and 31 runs batted in, has been named as an All-Star. He was also selected for the Florida State League mid-summer classic in 2011. Cumpton is 7-6 with a 3.43 ERA for the Altoona, which will also have shortstop Brock Holt in the game. Holt won the Eastern League's 2011 All-Star Game MVP award.

PROMO UPDATE- JULY 4: West Virginia's next BIG 12 promotional night is July 4 at 7:05 pm against Lakewood. The team will host appearances by Dora the Explorer, Spongebob Squarepants, and Foofa from Yo Gabba Gabba. The evening will end with a post game fireworks show.

POWER POINTS: 41 percent of West Virginia's second half schedule will be played against the Lakewood BlueClaws and Delmarva Shorebirds... Former Power pitcher Jameson Tallion was selected to participate in the 2012 Futures Game during the Major League Baseball All-Star festivities in Kansas City on July 8... Eric Fryer (WV Power- 2008) was added to the Pirates 40-man roster Tuesday and recalled to Pittsburgh. Starting catcher Rod Barajas is day-to-day with an injury. Fryer made his Major League debut last season.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh beat St. Louis 14-5 on the strength of four homer totaling seven runs of support... Indianapolis doubled up Toledo 4-2... Altoona pounded Harrisburg 11-3. Phil Irwin earned his first 2012 victory... Bradenton beat Palm Beach 7-4... State College suffered the only by the organization Friday, falling 3-2 at Mahoning Valley.
