
Saturday Night Victory for the Braves, 6-3

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves beat the Kannapolis Intimidators for the second game in a row 6-3 Saturday night at State Mutual Stadium in front of 3,834 fans.
The Braves got on the board in the third inning scoring two runs. Ryan Query led off with a double and later scored on an error by Rangel Ravelo allowing Ross Heffley to reach first. Kyle Kubitza then doubled home Heffley for the 2-0. However, Kannapolis answered in the top of the fourth by scoring two runs to tie the game. Grant Buckner led off the frame with a single followed by a Kevan Smith two run home run. Rome regained the lead in the fifth on an RBI base hit by Heffley for the 3-2 lead.
In the sixth, Will Skinner reached on another error by Ravelo and after a stolen base and single by Chase Anselment, Skinner would cross the plate on a Brandon Drury ground out. Anselment would advance to third and score on Query's single giving Rome a 5-2 lead.
Kannapolis added a run in the seventh for the 5-3 score. Rome pushed the lead back to three runs when Heffley singled to left, advanced to second on a balk and was driven in on a Kyle Kubitza single to secure the 6-3 victory.
Alex Wood was impressive in his second professional start going three innings and only giving up one hit but Navery Moore (4-3) came away with the win. Moore allowed two runs and two hits in three innings of work. Ronan Pacheco (1) came on in relief of Moore and pitched three good innings only giving up one run to collect his first save of the season. Kannapolis' starter Chris Devenski (4-3) was charged with the loss.
