POWER REPLAY: West Virginia fell 3-2 at Hickory in the series opener last night. The Crawdads held a 1-0 lead after one, but the Power rallied for two runs in the top of the third on a run-scoring single by Junior Sosa and a sac fly from Francisco Aponte. Hickory tied the game on a solo home run in the home half of the inning and scored the winning run in the fourth on a one-out single by Trever Adams. Ryan Hafner allowed all three runs as West Virginia's three game winning streak was stopped.

GOODBYE MAY: After going 8-16 in April, West Virginiafinished the month of May with a 10-20 record over 30 games. The club hit .279 in April but saw the average drop to .258 due to a .240 clip during the month of May. The pitching staff's ERA improved from 5.80 after 24 April games to 5.44 after 54 games (a 5.16 ERA in May).

TRENDING SOUTH: The Power are on pace to finish the first half with a 24-46 record. If that holds true, it would be the lowest winning percentage (.343) in any half of a season since the team moved to Appalachian Power Park in 2005. The '05 club went 25-45 in the first half (.357 winning percentage). The second lowest percentage after 70 games belongs to the 2009 Power during the first year as a Pirates affiliate (27-43 (.386)). No West Virginia team, however, has finished with fewer than 34 wins during the second half (the 2010 ballclub went 34-36 in the second half).

SWEEPS! West Virginia notched its' second series sweep of the season by taking three straight from Lakewood Monday though Wednesday. The only other winning sweep this season was April 12 through 15 at Appalachian Power Park against the Greenville Drive; the very first home series of the year. West Virginia will now try to match its' longest winning streak of the season at four games (also April 12-15).

DOUBLE TRIPLES: Chris Lashmet became the first Power player with two triples in a single game this season. In fact, it had been over a year since the last Power player had two three-base hits in a game. Matt Curry tripled twice against Asheville on April 12, 2011 in a 6-3 Power win.

GRAB THE STEAMPOT: The Power are 45-33 all-time against the Crawdads dating back to 2005 and have an 18-20 record on the road during the series.

DAILY UPDATE: Thanks to a win on Memorial Day, West Virginia is now 4-3 on Mondays this season, the only day of the week when the team has a winning record. Tuesday's victory was the first of the year on a Tuesday (1-6). The Power are now 3-4 on Wednesdays, 3-6 on Thursdays, 4-5 in Friday games, 1-7 on Saturdays, and 2-5 on Sundays this season.

PROMO UPDATE- JUNE 15: West Virginia will hold Pink Power Night on June 15 against the Hagerstown Suns. The team will don pink jerseys that will be auctioned off with proceeds benefiting the Komen for the Cure Foundation.

POWER POINTS: During the weekend series with Kannapolis, West Virginia drew a combined 12,837 fans to Appalachian Power Park. With an attendance of 3,641 during Friday night's game, the Power surpassed the 1.5 million fan mark dating back to 2005 when the stadium opened... Former Power All-Star Jameson Taillon was named to the Florida State All-Star team today.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh was off on Thursday and opens a seven game road swing tonight in Atlanta... Indianapolis shutout Durham 4-0... Altoona beat Richmond 5-4 in 11 innings... Bradenton walked off with a 2-1 win Fort Myers in 10 innings.

ON THE AIR: All 140 West Virginia Power games can be heard on ESPN 104.5 FM and 1490 AM in Charleston, WV, across the state on the Power Radio Network, and online at milb.com.
