TONIGHT'S MATCHUP

Kingham: Allowed 1 R on 3 H with 6 K and 0 BB over 6.0 IP in 5/19 ND @ GVL (7-3 Drive)

POWER REPLAY: West Virginia fell 4-0 at Lexington on Wednesday. The Legends scored runs in the third, fourth, fifth, and seventh innings to back three pitchers in the combined shutout. Robby Rowland took the loss in his first start for the Power after surrendering two runs, one earned, on four hits over four innings of work. The Power managed just four hits and six walks while being shutout for the third time this season.

NOT TO BE INTIMIDATED: West Virginia hosts Kannapolis over the next three days for the club's first 2012 series. The Intimidators won the 2011 series 7-6 and lead the all-time set by a five win margin at 40-35. The Power are 18-19 at home since 2005 and 17-21 in Kannapolis at the stadium now known as CMC-Northeast Stadium (formerly FieldCrest Cannon Stadium).

TWINBILL ON THE HORIZON: MAY 25: The Power will play a day-night doubleheader on May 25 against Kannapolis. The first game will start at 11:05 am and will be the final Grand Slam School Day of the season. The 7:05 pm nightcap will serve as a Hometown Heroes game with a special discounted ticket package available for local law enforcement, fire, and life safety personnel. The day game will be a seven inning contest while the nightcap will be a full nine inning game.

LAST TIME OUT: Nick Kingham, tonight's starting pitcher, is coming off his best outing of the season. The right-hander allowed one run on three hits in a no-decision against Greenville this past Saturday. Kingham faced one batter over the minimum in the first five innings and gave up his lone runin the sixth before leaving the game. The Drive scored five runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to rally ahead in a 7-3 Greenville win.

SCORING BREAKDOWN: West Virginia has allowed 103 more than it has scored so far this season. The Power have plated 203 runs this year (4.41 runs per game). The club's best inning for runs had been the fifth (33) while the seventh has seen the fewest (14). Comparatively, West Virginia has allowed 306 runs over 46 games (6.65 per game). Teams have been the most productive against the Power in the third inning (50 runs allowed) and the least productive in the fourth and eighth innings (25 runs allowed in each).

BUSY BODIES: Alen Hanson leads the SAL with 45 games played this season. Willy Garcia has appeared in 44 and is tied with three others for second. Jose Osuna was held of two games during the Lexington series, but has played in 42 total. Gregory Polanco has also appeared in nearly every game this season. having played in 41 of 46 possible contests.

MEMORIAL DAY: The Power will host the Lakewood BlueClaws on Monday, May 28. The first pitch is scheduled for 5:05 pm.

PROMO UPDATE- MAY 26: The Power will host a Redneck Night on May 26 as part of the Big 12 promotional package. The game will feature an appearance by the World's Strongest Redneck, the Cowboy Monkey Rodeo, and a ceremonial "First Hitch" wedding after the game. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a camouflage Power baseball hat.

POWER POINTS: During the recent seven game road trip, West Virginia's team batting average dropped from .264 to .256... Fans can vote for the 2012 SAL All-Star game at the West Virginia Power's Facebook page. A new position is being voted on daily until May 31.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh lost 3-1 to the New York Mets on Wednesday afternoon... Indianapolis did not play... Altoona lost both halves of a doubleheader against Harrisburg, falling 5-3 and 3-2... Bradenton scored five in the fifth en route to a 6-1 win over Lakeland.
