Game Two: LH Mike Jefferson (1-2, 6.00) vs. RH Geoff Parker (1-1, 2.53)

TWINBILL TONIGHT: The Power and Tourists will play two this evening to make up the April 18 postponed game that was scheduled to be played at Appalachian Power Park. West Virginia has not played a doubleheader yet this season while Asheville split a twinbill with Delmarva during the opening weekend of the year.

POWER REPLAY: West Virginia beat Greensboro 9-6 on Monday evening to snap a three-game losing streak and claim the finale of a seven-game homestand. The Hoppers held leads of 2-0 and 6-4, but the Power battled back each time and took the lead for good in the fifth inning on a run-scoring single by Elias Diaz. All told, West Virginia scored at least one run in seven different innings. Orlando Castro was sharp in relief, pitching five shutout innings for his first win of the season.

HAPPY TO SEE US: West Virginia and Asheville will meet for their third series already this season. Asheville has won each game so far and holds a 34-23 mark against the Power all-time. The Tourists have scored 174 runs this season; the most by any club in all of full season baseball including the Majors. Of those 174, 57 have been scored against Power pitching this year, accounting for 33% of Asheville's total offense.

MESA MASHING: In three games since joining the Power roster, Carlos Mesa is batting .385 with five hits in 13 at bats. Two of those three hits have been home runs, moving him into a tie for third on the team's home run list with Willy Garcia (22 games played).

OUSTANDING ORLANDO: Orlando Castro's five innings of relief Monday was the longest such outing this season by any member of the Power bullpen. In fact, West Virginia's starting pitchers have only tossed more than five innings on five occasions this season in 24 chances.

PAYNE TRANSFERRED: The Pittsburgh Pirates have transferred relief pitcher Vince Payne off the West Virginia roster and sent him back to Extended Spring Training. Payne appeared in three games for the Power and had an ERA on 12.79 this season.

MONTERO TO POWER ROSTER: To replace Vince Payne on the active roster, the Pirates transferred Joan Montero from Bradenton to West Virginia on Monday. The right-hander was signed as a non-drafted free agent in 2009 and pitched exclusively for State College last year, going 0-1 with an ERA of 0.00 over 17 games. In two appearances for the Marauders this year, Montero held a 13.50 ERA after surrendering six run over four innings in two outings.

PROMO UPDATE- MAY 10: The Power will host their first Thirsty Thursday Concert Series on May 10 at Appalachian Power Park. Rubber Soul, a Beatles tribute band, will perform immediately following West Virginia's series opener against the Charleston RiverDogs.

POWER POINTS: Alen Hanson's hitting streak was stopped at 16 games with an 0-4 performance on Friday night. During this league-best streak, Hanson hit at a .429 clip with 30 hits in 70 at bats... New Method will perform a post-game concert on May 11 during Faith and Family Night... Former Power pitcher Jameson Taillon was named the Florida State League Pitcher of the Week on Monday for his effort from April 23-30 (1-0 over two starts with a 0.00 ERA and 10 strikeouts).

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh lost 1-07 at St. Louis. Pedro Alvarez hit his sixth home run of the year in the loss... Indianapolis beat Norfolk 6-4 ... Altoona downed Erie 7-3 on the road. Matt Curry drove in three and hit hit first home run of the season... Bradenton fell 4-1 to Charlotte. Eliecer Navarro took the loss for the Marauders.

ON THE AIR: All 140 West Virginia Power games can be heard on ESPN 104.5 FM and 1490 AM in Charleston, WV, across the state on the Power Radio Network, and online at milb.com. Adam Marco will call the action for each of the 70 home games this season, while the home team will provide coverage while the Power are on the road.
