POWER REPLAY: West Virginia beat Savannah 2-1 on Wednesday afternoon. Each team scored a run in the first inning, including an RBI-single by Jose Osuna in the home half of the first. Pitchers Zac Fuesser and Alex Panteliodis matched zeros on the scoreboard over the next five innings with Fuesser striking out eight along the way. In the eighth, Alen Hanson singled in Junior Sosa for the eventual winning run. Jordan Cooper pitched the final two innings for his first win of the season.

15 STRAIGHT: Alen Hanson's stretched his hitting streak to 15 straight games after two hits on Wednesday. The infielder's streak had matched the longest in the league this season and is currently the longest active streak in the SAL after Kannapolis's Rangel Ravelo went hitless yesterday against Augusta. During this streak, Hanson has hit at a .446 clip with 29 hits in 65 at bats.

GREET THE METS: West Virginia and the Savannah Sand Gnats have two more games left against each other this season. The Power lead the all-time series 19-13 and hold an 11-6 record at Appalachian Power Park against the SAL affiliate of the New York Mets. West Virginia and Savannah were scheduled to play seven times last season, but only managed to get six in due to a rainout on the second day of the season.

AT A LOSS: Wednesday's win snapped a seven game losing streak that had matched the longest such streak since the club became a Pittsburgh Pirates affiliate prior to the 2009 season. The longest losing streak during 2011 was seven games, the longest of 2010 was six (three times), and the longest stretch without a win in 2009 was also seven games.

HOMER DROUGHT: West Virginia's offense has not hit a home run since April 15, a stretch that spans the entire seven game losing streak plus Wednesday's win. The Power hit 11 home runs over the first 11 games of the season. West Virginia has a 4-3 record in games when they hit a home run and are now 2-10 record in games without.

HIGH QUALITY: Zac Fuesser pitched six innings on Wednesday for his first quality start of the season. Over 11 starts in 2011, the southpaw had four quality starts. Fuesser struck out eight Sand Gnats Wednesday to match Zack Dodson's effort last Friday for the most strikeouts by any Power pitcher in a single game this season.

PROMO UPDATE- APRIL 27: The Power will host a Charlies Reunion Night on tomorrow night at Appalachian Power Park. Former Charleston Charlies like Kent Tekulve, Steve Blass, and Dave Parker will be in attendance for the game and will sign autographs. A VIP experience is also being offeredwith an hour long meet and greet plus question and answer session.

POWER POINTS: Josh Bell did not play Wednesday after leaving Tuesday's game with an injury before the fourth inning... Alen Hanson leads West Virginia with 12 multi-hit games this season. Three players are tied for second with six multi-hit contests... Kirk Singer kept off the bases in both games of this series after having reached by hit or walk in each of his first 12 games played... Depsite not allowing any earned runs yesterday, the Power's 5.85 ERA is the highest in the SAL... Sunday's probable starter for Greensboro, Jose Fernandez, pitched the first six innings of a combined no-hitter on Tuesday.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh split a doubleheader with Colorado, losing game one 2-1 and taking game two 5-1... Indianapolis beat Louisville 5-1, tagging former Alley Cat Brett Tomko with the loss... Altoona was shutout 8-0 by Harrisburg... Bradenton lost 8-0 at Charlotte. The Stone Crabs scored five runs over five innings against Gerrit Cole.
