Dalfonso Return Sparks Braves Offense as Braves Win 6-2

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves defeated the Hagerstown Suns 6-2 Thursday night at State Mutual Stadium in front of 2,161 fans. Jakob Dalfonso returned to the Rome lineup and went 3-4 with two RBI on the night.

The Braves scored first in the second inning as Cory Brownsten hit an RBI double which plated Felix Marte for the 1-0 score. Rome would strike again in the bottom of the third on a two RBI double by Elmer Reyes. The Braves added three runs in the bottom of the fourth as Brandon Drury doubled home one run and Dalfonso lined a two RBI single to score Drury and Kyle Kubitza, increasing the lead 6-0.

The Suns would get on the board in the sixth inning on an RBI single by Matthew Skole and added a run in the ninth but reliever Ryan Harper held on for the 6-2 victory. .

RHP Rafael Briceno (2-1) gets the win for the Braves. In six innings pitched, Briceno allowed four hits, one run and recorded three strikeouts. RHP Wirkin Estevez (2-1) would record the loss for the Suns.

The Braves will try to earn a split in the four game series with the Suns tomorrow night at 7 p.m. The first 1,000 inside State Mutual Stadium will receive a zip drive presented by Xfinity and Direct Auto Insurance.
