Potomac Nationals News Release
The Potomac Nationals begin a four-game series with the Myrtle Beach Pelicans (Texas Rangers), tonight at TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark in Myrtle Beach, SC.
The Pelicans are in first place in the Southern Division with a record of (30-25) and Potomac, winners of five games in a row, own the best record in the Carolina League with a mark of (31-24) after sweeping the Lynchburg Hillcats in a three-game set with a boost from rehabbing Washington Nationals RF Jayson Werth, who went 9-for-16 on the (6-1) homestand with two home runs and 8 RBIs.
The first pitch was scheduled for 7:05pm but we are currently in a rain delay as the Myrtle Beach grounds crew attempts to get the field ready for play after pre-game rain showers.
Potomac sends RHP Taylor Hill (4-2. 4.20) to face off with Myrtle Beach RHP Jerad Eickhoff (4-3, 4.01) in the opener this evening.
