Potomac Nationals 2016 Game Notes at Salem Red Sox

June 13, 2016 - Carolina League (CarL1)
Potomac Nationals News Release

The Potomac Nationals (30-31) visit the Salem Red Sox (40-23) for the first time in 2016. With a 4-3 loss yesterday, the P-Nats were eliminated from the Northern Division playoff race, as the Lynchburg Hillcats clinched the north. Meanwhile in the South, the Red Sox can clinch the division with a victory tonight or a loss by the Myrtle Beach Pelicans.

For Potomac, RHP Dakota Bacus (0-2, 4.82) will make his second start of the season for the P-Nats. In his first start after spending most of his time with Potomac in the bullpen, Bacus did not allow a run over his first three innings vs. Myrtle Beach, but surrendered a pair of runs in the fourth. Bacus struck out four in a no-decision vs. the Pelicans. The Red Sox are set to send LHP Matt Kent (5-3, 3.57) to the hill. Kent has not pitched against Potomac this season and has given up no more than two earned runs in each of his last three starts.

First pitch of the series opener at LewisGale Field is set for 7:05pm.
