Portland Winterhawks News Release

Hawks Happenings On The Ice:

Winterhawks defenseman Blake Heinrich is coming off the most productive week of his career, having posted seven points in the three games prior to Saturday in Seattle. In two of those three games he had two goals, after not having had a multi-point game previously in his WHL career. Heinrich's hot streak has him up to 28 points this season, six more than he had as a rookie last year.

With a split in their weekend games, the Hawks remain third in the U.S. Division, one point ahead of the Spokane Chiefs, and five ahead of the Tri-City Americans, the conference's ninth place team. With seven games remaining in the regular season, the U.S. Division standings are as follows:

Seattle: 83 points

Everett: 79 points

Portland: 70 points

Spokane: 69 points

Tri-Cities: 65 points

Adin Hill is closing in on the team record for goalie appearances in a season. With 59 games played, he's just four shy of the record of 63 set by Joaquin Gage (1991-92), Scott Langkow (1994-95), and Mac Carruth (2011-12).

Hawks Happenings Off The Ice:

Friday's game will be the Fred Meyer Food Drive presented by Burgerville. Fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable items (canned tuna, canned beans, canned dinners such as chili, pasta, and rice) to the game, with all food collected going to the Portland Police Bureau's Sunshine Division.

Sunday's game was originally scheduled for the Moda Center, but will instead be played at Veterans Memorial Coliseum to accommodate the Justin Bieber concert.
