March 7, 2016 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Kamloops Blazers News Release
For the second time in four weeks, Blazers goalie Connor Ingram has been nominated for the Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week Award, making him the WHL's top goalie of the week.
Ingram went 3-0-0-0 in three games last week, posting a 1.33 goals-against-average and a .969 save-percentage. The 18-year-old made 27 saves to shutout the Spokane Chiefs on Mar. 2nd, and followed that up by making a career-high 53 saves on Mar. 4th and 44 saves on Mar. 5th, as the Blazers beat the Kelowna Rockets by a 3-2 score on consecutive nights. Ingram was named the first star in all three of those games, helping Kamloops improve to 5-1-0-0 in their past six outings.
It's the third team this season that Ingram has been named the WHL's goalie of the week, having received the honor for the week of Dec. 7th - 13th, and Feb. 8th - 14th. Since December 11th, the Blazers netminder has gone 19-8-2-3 with four shutouts, posting a 2.35 goals-against-average and a .932 save-percentage.
The CHL Goaltender of the Week Award for the best goalie in all of the WHL, OHL and QMJHL will be announced on Tuesday.
