Portland Hits Three Home Runs in 9-3 Victory over Reading

READING, PA - The Portland Sea Dogs extended their winning streak to eight-games after the 9-3 victory over the Reading Fightin' Phils on Tuesday night. The Sea Dogs recorded three home runs in the first two innings two improve to 35-23 while the Fightin' Phils fall to 26-35.
Every Sea Dog batter recorded a hit while Ryan Fitzgerald tied a career-high with three doubles.
The eight-game winning streak is the longest since August 15-25 when the Sea Dogs won 10-straight games.
Andrew Politi was given the winning decision tossing 5.0 innings allowing two runs on six hits while walking two and striking out four. Julian Garcia was given the loss tossing 2.0 innings allowing seven runs (six earned) on seven hits while walking one and striking out two.
The Sea Dogs jumped out to an early lead in the top of the first inning. With one-out, Pedro Castellanos drew a walk. Triston Casas drove his fifth home run to left centerfield and Portland led, 2-0. Hudson Potts then singled to left field and came home on an RBI double by Ronaldo Hernandez.
In the bottom of the first inning, Daniel Brito led-off with a home run to left field and the Fightin' Phils were on the board, 3-1.
Portland connected for two more home runs in the top of the second inning. Pedro Castellanos blasted a three-run home run to left field, extending the Sea Dogs' lead 6-1. Joey Meneses then hit his tenth homer of the year to left field and Portland led, 7-1.
After a lead-off double by Ryan Fitzgerald in the top of the sixth inning, Devlin Granberg singled him home extending Portland's lead 8-1.
Logan Landon reached on a fielding error by Hudson Potts in the bottom of the sixth inning then scored on a sacrifice fly by McCarthy Tatum.
The Sea Dogs scored their final run in the top of the ninth inning. Meneses drew a lead-off walk then came home on an RBI double by Fitzgerald and Portland secured the 9-3 victory.
LHP Enmanuel De Jesus (2-2, 5.88 ERA) will start for the Sea Dogs tomorrow, July 14 at 7:05pm while the Fightin' Phils will send RHP Victor Santos (1-0, 1.72 ERA).
