Portland, ME - The Portland Sea Dogs (21-21) beat the Reading Fightin' Phils (20-23) 2-1 for their fourth straight win, their longest streak of the season, in front of a sold out crowd of 6,868 fans on Friday night.

Franklin Arias hit two home runs, his ninth and tenth of the season, to carry the Sea Dogs to victory on the offensive end, while the Sea Dogs pitching staff had another excellent night as a unit to hold Reading to just one run or less for the third time this series. RHP John Holobetz pitched a quality start, holding Reading scoreless through a full six innings.

It took just four pitches for Arias to drill his first home run of the night to straightaway center field off the Phillies' top pitching prospect, RHP Gage Wood, who made his Double-A debut tonight.

Arias' second homer came with one out in the fifth inning against RHP Jack Dallas, doubling the Sea Dogs' lead 2-0.

Reading pushed a run across in the top of the eighth inning, sparked by a Bryson Ware leadoff triple. A sacrifice run brought him home to score, as the Fightins cut the deficit to 2-1.

RHP Reidis Sena, who has stepped into a closing role for the Sea Dogs as of late shut down the Fightins in the ninth inning for his third save of the season.

RHP John Holobetz (2-3, 4.06 ERA) earned the win, allowing no runs on five hits with no walks and six strikeouts in his 6.0 innings of work. RHP Gage Wood (0-1, 3.00 ERA) took the loss, allowing one run on four hits with a walk and six strikeouts in 3.0 innings pitched. Sena's save was the third of the series for the Sea Dogs.

Tomorrow is Paw Patrol and First Responders Day at Delta Dental Park. RHP Jedixson Paez (1-1, 5.87 ERA) is slated to face LHP Adam Seminaris (3-3, 2.50 ERA), with first pitch scheduled for 1:00 pm.
