Tri-City Storm News Release
KEARNEY, Neb. - Tri-City Storm forward Austin Poganski continues to pile up the accolades during his draft year. Poganski has been named to USA Hockey's roster for the 2013 World Junior A Challenge next month in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.
The 17-year-old will be part of a roster made up of 22 USHL players from various teams throughout the league. The team will compete from November 2-10 against teams from Canada, Czech Republic, Switzerland, and Russia.
In just the past few months, the St. Cloud, Minn. native has been chosen to represent the USA in the Czech Republic in the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament, and was named to the USA Hockey All-American Prospect Game in Pittsburgh.
Due to scheduling, Poganski, as well as all of the other players on Team USA's roster, will miss games for their USHL teams while they are up north.
Through his first four games in the USHL this season, Poganski has been active as a top forward for Tri-City and scored his first goal last Saturday night against Waterloo.
