Suspended USHL Game to Continue November 12th

Chicago, IL - The United States Hockey League announced that the regular season game between the Dubuque Fighting Saints and Cedar Rapids RoughRiders which had begun play on Saturday, October 12th but was suspended due to a player injury, will resume play on Tuesday, November 12th at 7:05 PM in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Dubuque Fighting Saints defenseman Dylan Chanter was injured after falling and striking his head on the ice at 8:02 into of the second period during the game on October 12th. In light of the nature of the injury and the distress of both teams on the ice as well as the fans in the Cedar Rapids Arena, the Commissioner and general management of both the Fighting Saints and the RoughRiders concurred that it was in the best interest of all present not to continue the contest.

"As they were on the evening this unfortunate incident occurred, the RoughRiders and Fighting Saints organizations have shown a measure of true dignity and professionalism in working together to find a way to finish the game," said USHL President and Commissioner Skip Prince. "These teams are rivals on the ice, but true partners off it."

The game will resume on November 12th from the point at which it stopped. Therefore, play will resume with 11:58 on the clock in the second period, keeping all statistics that had been recorded up to that point on October 12th. The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders led by a 2-0 score at the time the game was suspended.

Fans in attendance on October 12th at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena can use their tickets on November 12th when the game resumes. Additionally, discounted tickets are also on sale for the continuation of the game on November 12th.
