Ice Home Saturday Night at Fieldhouse

October 17, 2013 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Indiana Ice News Release

INDIANAPOLIS-The Indiana Ice is looking to secure its first four-point weekend of the season as the team faces off against the Youngstown Phantoms Friday at the Covelli Centre before Saturday night's contest against the Omaha Lancers at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Puck drop for both games is 7:05 pm.

Indy's comeback effort against Youngstown fell short on Saturday as the Phantoms spoiled the Bankers Life Fieldhouse opener, 4-3, in an eight-round shootout. The Ice rallied from a three-goal deficit in the second period with goals off the tape of Vince Pedrie, Scott Conway and Timothy Shoup.

Youngstown owns the only win in the season series after Saturday's match, but dominated Indy in the 2012-2013 season with a 9-1-0 mark against the Ice. Phantoms forward Kyle Connor is currently tied for first in the USHL in scoring with 12 points (4G, 8A) through eight contests.

Omaha has been the talk of the junior hockey world as goaltender Cole Bruns has yet to surrender a goal in five consecutive contests to start the season while the team has outscored opponents 22-0. This will be the first of two meetings with the Lancers this season. Indy stole the teams' only match last season with a 2-0 shutout performance in the 2012-2013 home opener. Dalton Izyk (Robert Morris-AH) stopped all 18 shots on net while Austin Ortega (UNO-NCHC) and Brian Morgan (Maine-HE) provided goals for the Ice.

Saturday's contest from Bankers Life Fieldhouse is "Kaplan University Night," sponsored by Kaplan University.

Season and group tickets are now on sale for all 2013-2014 Indiana Ice home games. Flex packages and additional ticket packages are available starting as low as $50. For more information, call the Indiana Ice at (317) 925-4423.
