Plays of the Year Bracket Moves into the Second Round
June 10, 2022 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Moose Jaw Warriors News Release
After some tight battles and a few blowouts, the Moose Jaw Warriors' Plays of the Year bracket is moving into the second round, starting on Friday.
Of the 16 first-round matchups, the most lopsided win came in the final matchup with Jagger Firkus' Michigan goal cruising to a 96%-4% victory over Logan Doust's goal on Hockey Fights Cancer night.
The two closest matchups were decided by only two percent as Brayden Yager's steal and pass on Calder Anderson's goal in Winnipeg beat Denton Mateychuk's game-winning goal against Winnipeg in the final home game of the regular season.
The other one saw Martin Rysavy's speed and power goal in Regina top Firkus' breakaway goal in Edmonton.
Firkus factors into the most second round plays with four moving onto the round of 16, while Carl Tetachuk and Brayden Yager each have three plays advancing into the second round.
Second round voting begins on Friday and will run until June 21.
