
Playoffs Begin At Home On Monday

South Carolina Stingrays News Release
South Carolina topped the Columbia Inferno by the score of 6-4 on Saturday night to complete the regular season. The Rays finished the year with a record of 32-25-15. The Rays have a home record of 17-11-8 with home ice coming in the first round of the post season against the Charlotte Checkers.
The Stingrays are 2-6-3 against the Checkers this season, while Charlotte has an impressive record against South Carolina of 9-2.
Scott Cameron led the Stingrays in scoring this season with 72 points. Matt Reid had three goals on Saturday and finished the season with a team leading 24. Evan Schwabe had an impressive season of 23 goals and 33 assists fo 56 points in 60 games.
Davis Parley is expected to be the starter in goal for the Rays on Monday. He finished the year with a record of 14-12-4 with a goals against average of 2.88 and a save percentage of .915.
Cameron Named Runner Up For Sportsmanship
Stingrays forward Scott Cameron was named Runner Up for the ECHL Sportsmanship Award this week. Cameron, who began the season with the Dayton Bombers, came to the Stingrays in a trade for Jeff Legue and Dominic Soucy.
Spencer Waits Until The Final Minute
Stingrays defenseman Steve Spencer waited until the final minute of the regular season to score his first goal of the year. With Columbia's net empty and a 5-4 score on Saturday, Spencer found the puck deep in his own zone and scored on a 200 footer with just 30 seconds to go.
