A power play goal broke a 1-1 tie halfway through the third period on Sunday and propelled the Greenville Grrrowl to a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three ECHL South Division Quarterfinal.

Ryan Lang put the Lynx ahead in the first period, beating Jeff Deslauriers over the right pad with a wrist shot during a four-on-four stretch for his first of the playoffs from Mike Erickson.

Back came the Grrrowl, finally jumping on the board at 5:30 of the middle frame as Tim Sestito deflected a feed from Adam Nightingale past Jason Wolfe to tie the game at 1-1 through 40 minutes of play.

The only goal of the third period would belong to the Grrrowl as Brock Radunske teed up a drive from the high slot and beat Wolfe five-hole for game winner at 10:15 from Andrew Martins and Colin Pepperall.

Wolfe took the loss with 28 saves while Deslauriers earned the win by stopping 27 Lynx shots. Augusta finished the night 0-for-6 on the power play while Greenville went 1-for-7.

Game Two of the South Division Quarterfinal series will come Tuesday night in Augusta at 7:35 pm. Tickets are on sale now through the Lynx office at (706) 724-4ICE, all TicketMaster locations, and on line at www.TicketMaster.com.
