Playoff Drive Continues for the Suns This Weekend

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville Suns, currently in first place in the Southern League's South Division second-half standings, will continue their quest for the team's third consecutive playoff appearance this weekend at the Baseball Grounds, hosting the Carolina Mudcats for a five-game series, Wednesday through Sunday.

On Wednesday, it's the last Ladies' Night of the season. All ladies get in free and receive a free pair of Suns flip flops, courtesy of Coke Zero and Movin' 100.7FM. It's also Chamber of Commerce Night. All members of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce will receive a special ticket discount at the box office.

The hottest spot in Jacksonville on Thursday nights is the Baseball Grounds when the Suns host another Thursday Night Throwdown. Buds are just a buck and fans can enjoy other great drink specials, compliments of Budweiser, Bacardi, Three Olives Vodka and Planet Radio 107.3FM.

The fun and excitement continues on Friday with one of the Suns' most popular and long-standing promotions, Used Car Night, sponsored by Autotrader.com, WJXT TV-4 and The New 99.1 WQIK. All fans 18 and over have the opportunity to win a quality used car from one of these fine participating dealers: Coggin Automotive, Jack Caruso's Regency Dodge, Jerry Hamm Chevrolet and Matheny Imports. After the game, everyone will be treated to NAPA Friday Family Fireworks.

The Suns continue the celebration of the 1967 Jacksonville Suns with a commemorative Nolan Ryan Jersey Pen and Pencil Holder Giveaway. The first 3,000 fans will receive this office essential, shaped like the Suns jersey worn by the great Nolan Ryan during the 1967 season when he played in Jacksonville. The giveaway is sponsored by Arlington Toyota, CW17 and 102.9 The Point. The Suns players will also be wearing throwback 1967 replica uniforms. Saturday is also a Benadryl sponsored game with fun and giveaways!

The Baseball Grounds goes to the dogs on Sunday to close out the homestand with the Suns' annual Dog Days of Summer. Fans can bring their well-behaved pooch to the park, with dog tickets costing just $1.00, and enjoy the game from the berm section of the Baseball Grounds. Great prizes will be available for all the dogs. Plus, all kids through the gate will receive a free Southpaw Piggy Bank, courtesy of State Farm Bank, Fox 30 WAWS and KISS FM. It's also Library Day where fans can get a $5.00 ticket discount with their library card and one lucky boy and girl will win a new bicycle for reading during the summer! After the game, Kids Run the Bases, sponsored by Florida Telco Credit Union.
