Players to Visit the Highway 99 Cruise-N-Show on Friday

This Week In Condorstown:

Tuesday, Oct. 6:

Condors mascot Colonel Claw'd will be at Williams Elementary School, located at 1201 Williams St. from 3:45-4:45 p.m. participating in a variety of events, including noodle hockey.

Wednesday, Oct. 7:

The week continues with another school appearance at Rosedale North Elementary School, located at 11500 Meacham Road, for its Celebrity Read-A-Loud event from 9-10 a.m. Baby Cal will act out a book while it is read aloud to the students.

Thursday, Oct. 8:

The Condors take to the ice for their first Preseason Game at Stockton at 7 p.m. The Condors will not be broadcasting the game, but Jason Lockhart, a member of the Condors broadcast team, will be tweeting live from the arena.

Friday, Oct. 9:

A busy Friday kicks off with an appearance at the 3rd Annual Kern County Senior Olympics at the Rosedale Senior Living Retirement Community on 1301 New Stine Road. Baby Cal will be on hand walking in the parade and helping out with the awards ceremony. The event begins at 8 a.m.

Col. Claw'd will be at Norris Middle School, located at 6940 Calloway Drive at 2:15 p.m. for their annual Christmas Fundraiser. The Jersey Mike's Sub Gun (pictured, right) will also be there, shooting t-shirts to the crowd of students at the assembly.

The busy day concludes with Condors G Timo Pielmeier, F Shawn Weller and F Matthew Myers participating in the Highway 99 Cruise-N-Show. The players will be at the intersection of 18th St. and Chester Ave. checking out some cars, including a Monster Truck. The event will take place from 7-10 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 10:

Hockey returns to Rabobank Arena for the Condors Preseason Home Game against the Stockton Thunder at 7 p.m, sponsored by ESPN Radio 1230 and Bakersfield Marriott at the Convention Center. This is the first chance to see the 2009-10 Condors in action. Special ticket prices of $5 for Upper Bowl and $10 Lower Bowl tickets are available. Call 324-PUCK (7825) to purchase them today.

Condors contribute to Kern County Food Bank:

Thanks to the donations by the greatest fans in the ECHL, the Condors helped raise 1,200 pounds of canned goods, equaling $1,800 in food, at the Annual Open House & Family Day to benefit the Kern County Food Bank. Over the past eight years, Condors fans have donated nearly 19,000 pounds of canned goods at the annual Open House event.
