Steelheads hit the road for exhibition games

(Boise, ID) - The ECHL's Idaho Steelheads and Utah Grizzlies will meet for a pair of preseason exhibition games this weekend, the first in Utah and the second back home in Idaho.

The two teams will play in Logan, UT, Friday night before bussing up to Idaho for a Saturday-night date in McCall at the Manchester Ice and Events Centre.

The annual preseason trip to McCall has been popular among fans in the resort community two hours north of Boise and also for Steelheads fans who live in the Treasure Valley.

"The community of McCall has always treated our organization and traveling fans so well," Steelheads head coach Derek Laxdal said. "And it's great for the guys to be able to play in front of a good crowd of friendly faces at the Manchester Ice and Events Centre."

Game time in McCall on Saturday night is 7 PM, with the doors opening at 6:30. Tickets are available at the Manchester Ice and Events Centre in McCall or by calling 208.634.3570. Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $8 for kids and seniors.

Friday night's game will be played at the Eccles Ice Center in Logan, starting at 7 PM.

Season-ticket packages for the 2009-2010 season remain available, starting at $450 per seat for all 36 home games. Partial-season plans begin at just $150 per seat.
