
Gladiators Alter Training Camp Roster

Atlanta Gladiators News Release
The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that four players have been added to training camp from assignments from the American Hockey League while two players have been released. Chad Denny, Brian Kaufman, Dan Taylor and Drew Paris join the Gladiators from the AHL. Gwinnett has releases John Hewko and Chad Collins.
Denny has been assigned to the Gladiators from the Chicago Wolves. The Eskasoni First Nation, NS native returns to the Gladiators after appearing with Gwinnett in each of his first two professional seasons. He collected 7 goals and 6 assists for 13 points in 48 games during his rookie season in 2007-08 and had 2 goals and 4 assists in 11 AHL games with Chicago. Last season, Denny spent a majority of the season with the Wolves posting 10 points in 41 AHL games while skating in just 2 games with the Gladiators.
Kaufman joins the Gladiators after completing his collegiate career with Miami University of Ohio. He notched 10 goals and 12 assists for 22 points in 41 games last season. During his four year collegiate career, Kaufman notched 30 goals and 54 assists for 84 points in 125 career collegiate games.
Taylor joins the Gladiators after being assigned to the Gladiators from the Syracuse Crunch. The netminder comes to the Gladiators after playing with the Reading Royals during the past two seasons. He posted a 3-17-1 record with Reading. The netminder also saw action in 15 AHL games with Manchester last year compiling a 2.66 goals against average and a .909 save percentage. Taylor also appeared in one game in the National Hockey League with the Los Angeles Kings last season.
Paris returns to the Gladiators after joining Gwinnett during the post season last year. He skated in 2 Kelly Cup Playoff games last year with the Gladiators but did not register a point. He appeared in a combined 9 regular season games between Rochester of the American Hockey League and the Florida Everblades following his final season in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
The Gladiators continue training camp on Tuesday at the Ice Forum in Duluth with an on-ice session from 12:15 to 2:10 p.m. The Gladiators continue to prepare for a pair of exhibition games against the Florida Everblades on Friday, October 9th and October 10th at the Germain Arena in Estero, Fl.
Began in 1988-89 with five teams playing in four states, the Premier 'AA' Hockey League has grown into a coast-to-coast league that is the third-longest tenured professional hockey league behind only the National Hockey League and the American Hockey League. The ECHL averaged 4,174 per game last season, marking the fourth year in row and the 16th time in the last 18 years that the league has averaged over 4,000 fans. The league has drawn over four million fans each of the last five years and 11 times in the past 12 seasons.

The Gladiators are the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers and Columbus Blue Jackets and play all home games at the spectacular 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth, where parking is always free.
