Everblades Sign Morrison

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president and general manager Craig Brush along with head coach Malcolm Cameron announced the signing of forward Jordan Morrison today. Morrison began the season in the AHL's Rochester Americans' training camp.

Morrison, a seventh round draft pick of the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2004, skated the majority of last season with the Wheeling Nailers. He also appeared in seven games with the Nailers' AHL affiliate, Wilkes-Barre, chipping in one assist. The second-year professional scored 26 goals and 74 points for Wheeling in 63 contests. He was named to the 2008-09 ECHL All Rookie Team. He also averaged nearly a point a game in seven playoff appearances (3-3=6).

Prior to his first full professional season, Morrison played for coach Cameron and the Texas Wildcatters for four regular-season games (1-2=3) and nine Kelly Cup playoff contests (2-2=4, 12 PIMs).

Head coach Malcolm Cameron is happy to be reunited with Morrison, "Jordan is a highly-skilled forward with tremendous vision that makes people around him better."

The Uxbridge, Ontario native attended two years of University at Dalhousie. In addition, the 23-year-old forward spent four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with Peterborough from 2002-06.
