Aberdeen Wings News Release
The Aberdeen Wings are currently in Training Camp at the Odde Ice Center in preparation for the 2014-2015 season in the North American Hockey League. This marks the 5th anniversary of the Aberdeen Wings franchise. The team got two exhibition pre-season wins against the Topeka Roadrunners of the NAHL South last weekend.
Today's player highlight is of newcomer #14 Collin Hughes, of Lino Lakes, Minnesota. Hughes played prep hockey last year for Centennial of 5A in Minnesota. In 25 games, he scored 9 goals and 9 assists leading Centennial into the playoffs. As a forward, Hughes will be competing in Training Camp for a chance to get on a line which last year ranked Top 10 in the NAHL in goals/shot ratio and an offensive team that scored at least 5 goals or more in 13 regular season games. The Wings were also one of the top teams for wins by scoring 6 goals or more.
The Aberdeen Wings continue with Training Camp until next Wednesday when the official start of the season comes to play at the NAHL Showcase in Blaine, Minnesota. The Wings will play 4 games against non-division opponents and then return to the Odde Ice Center for the home opener against the rival Bismarck Bobcats.
