Pittsburgh Xplosion to hold second open tryout camp for the 2006-2007 season
August 16, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Pittsburgh Xplosion News Release
Pittsburgh Xplosion General Manager Freddie Lewis announced that the team would hold their second open tryouts on August 18th and August 19th. The camps will run from 10am - 5pm. Tryouts will be held at the Club 4 Life in Monroeville, Xplosion's practice facility.
A tremendous group of talent will be attending tryouts including former Duquesne guard Bryant McAllister, a 2005-06 second team All-Atlantic 10 pick, and Alantic-10 scoring champ. McAllister finished with a 19.73 scoring average, just five-hundredths of a point ahead of league Player of the Year Steven Smith of La Salle.
Richard Hersperger, CEO and co-owner, said, "After our first successful tryout we are still looking for some talented players who possess the necessary talent to play professional basketball." The tryout is open to all who think they got game, and if you do, bring it because the competition will be fierce.
"Our goal this year is to field a winning team with explosive offensive skills, lightening speed and tenacious defense to continue our success from last season," added Lewis, a four-time ABA All-Star with the Indiana Pacers.
