Question from Brady, Minneapolis: "I've noticed that you have moved several teams, including Minneapolis, from the 2006 to 2007. Why?"

Answer: Brady. Thanks for the question. Very perceptive. I'm pleased that you are following the league so closely. The absolute number one goal for the ABA this season is for every team that starts completes its 36 game home and away schedule. There is nothing more important. If a team, for any reason, feels that it cannot do that, and meet all of the standards and requirements, we suggest that they move from 2006 to 2007 and give themselves more time to prepare. There are many things to do to make sure that a team provides top quality, exciting ABA basketball and entertainment at affordable prices for its fans - sponsorships, ticket sales, community relations, press relations, staffing, venue, tryouts, etc. Those teams that have been changed from 2006 to 2007, for any of these reasons, will be ready to play next season. Meantime, the ABA continues to be the largest and fastest growing professional sports league ever - and fans throughout the US, Canada and Mexico will enjoy the games and entertainment. If you have a question, please email joenewman@abalive.com.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
