Trenton Thunder News Release

(Trenton, NJ) - The Trenton Thunder, Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, announced Friday that RHP Mikey O'Brien has been transferred to the team from Class-A Tampa and that RHP Cory Arbiso has been placed on the disabled list with a mid-back strain. O'Brien will make his Double-A debut Friday night in a start at New Hampshire.

O'Brien was putting together a standout season for the Tampa Yankees, where he went 4-1 with a 2.92 ERA in 7 appearances (6 starts). He allowed one run or fewer in five of his seven Tampa outings and did not allow a home run. O'Brien, 22, is in his fifth professional season and has a record of 20-14 in 59 games (49 starts).

Arbiso becomes the third member of the Thunder's starting rotation in the last week to hit the DL. He pitched two innings Thursday at Binghamton and took his first loss of the season, allowing nine runs (three earned) on seven hits.
