----- Tonight, the SeaWolves hit the road for a brief, three-game road trip as they take on the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates) in the opener of a three-game series at People's Natural Gas Field. The SeaWolves finished off their most successful homestand on Wednesday morning with a 2-1 win over Akron. Erie's 6-1 homestand propelled the club to two games above .500 heading into the weekend series. The SeaWolves are 9-6 in May and 3-3 in their last six road games...Erie has won five straight and seven of the last nine against the Curve...Altoona is on a three-game winning streak after a sweep over Bowie this week...Tonight, righty James Avery takes the mound for the SeaWolves making his eighth start of the season and third against the Curve. Avery is 2-0 with a 1.93 ERA in his previous two starts against Altoona. Avery beat Altoona in his last start on May 12. In the game, he allowed three runs on five hits with four walks and five strikeouts in five innings of work. Erie won the game 11-6...RHP Brandon Cumpton takes the mound for the Curve making his eighth start of the season and fourth against the SeaWolves. Cumpton is 1-2 in his previous three starts against Erie. The 'Wolves beat Cumpton on May 12. In the game, the righty allowed six runs, five earned, on seven hits with two walks and four strikeouts in 4.2 innings of work. His two shortest outings of the season (4.1 and 4.2 IP) have come against the SeaWolves...The SeaWolves can go to a season-high three-games above .500 with a win.
