ZEBULON, NC - The Atlanta Braves announced today several roster moves, including the assignment of RHP Mike Nesseth to the Mudcats. Nesseth will be active for tonight's game between Carolina and the visiting Myrtle Beach Pelicans at Five County Stadium.

5/16 - RHP Mike Nesseth assigned to Carolina

The Braves agreed to terms with Nesseth today. He was originally a 17th round draft pick by the Philadelphia Phillies in 2010 out of Nebraska. Nesseth was released by the Phillies on May 14 and comes to the Atlanta farm system after playing for the Triple A Lehigh Valley IronPigs and Double A Reading Fightin Phils earlier this season.

Nesseth was 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA over two games and two innings with Lehigh Valley between April 13 and April 14. He was also 0-2 with a 5.02 ERA over eight games and 14 and 1/3 innings pitched with Reading between April 18 and May 13 this year.

The Mudcats roster is currently at 25 active players with seven on the disabled list.

The Carolina Mudcats are the Class A Advanced affiliate of the Atlanta Braves. The 2015 "Braves New World" season is the first for the Mudcats as an affiliate of the Atlanta Braves and their fourth straight in the historic Carolina League. First established in 1991, the Carolina Mudcats are in their 25th straight season of baseball at Five County Stadium in Zebulon, N.C.
