Pit Spitters Come Back for Third Straight Win

Traverse City, MI - Trailing 3-0 early, the Traverse City Pit Spitters (5-6) completed the comeback to beat the Kokomo Jackrabbits (4-7) on Friday night 4-3.

The Pit Spitters cut the deficit in the fifth on a two-out RBI double by Jared Miller. The next batter Jake Smallwood singled him home to make the score 3-2.

After back-to-back hit by pitches in the sixth, Cody Hultink capitalized with a game-tying sacrifice fly. The Pit Spitters took their first lead in the seventh on a two-out RBI single from Camden Traficante. The Pit Spitters have collected three two-out RBI hits in back-to-back games.

The bullpen was strong as Ryan Insco and Blake Ignaciak made their season debuts. Insco went three innings, allowed just one hit, and struck out three batters, picking up the win. Ignaciak followed with two scoreless innings, also allowing one hit and stirking out three. Ignaciak got a two-out save.

The Pit Spitters conclude the series Saturday at 7:05 ET. Left-hander Derek Clark will start for Traverse City.
