Pirates Open Season with VIP Cup defense vs. Manchester tonight!
Lewiston, ME- The Portland Pirates will embark upon their 21st season on Wednesday with a new home in Lewiston at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee. The Pirates first test of the season will be Wednesday, against the Manchester Monarchs in the Pirates first VIP Cup defense presented by VIP Tires and Service. Puck drop for the 2013-14 season will be at 7 PM.
The Pirates will then face perennial powerhouse Providence on October 12th at 7 PM in their first of 8 meetings on the year. Former Pirate Nick Johnson will face Portland for the first time as the Pirates look to take an early Atlantic Division lead.
The VIP Cup, presented by VIP Tires and Service, was won by the Pirates in its inaugural season last year
