Minnesota Wild Recalls Forward Stephane Veilleux from Iowa

Des Moines, IA - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher on Wednes day announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled forward Stephane Veilleux (pronounced steph-AWN vay-OOH) from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL) and reassigned forwards Carson McMillan and Jason Zucker (pronounced zook-er) to Iowa.

Veilleux, 31 (11/16/81), skated in two playoff games with Minnesota last season and tallied eight points (3-58) and 45 penalty minutes (PIM) in 33 regular season games with Houston (AHL). He added two assists in three playoff games with the Aeros. Veilleux compiled two assists and 15 PIM in 21 matches with Minnesota after being acquired in a trade from New Jersey on Feb. 24, 2012. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound native of St. Georges de Beauce, Que., has compiled 101 points (46-55101) and 317 PIM in 460 NHL games with Minnesota, Tampa Bay and New Jersey. Veilleux ranks fifth in Wild history in hits (396), eighth in games played (382), 10 th in PIM (269) and 11 th in shots (558). He was originally selected by Minnesota in the third-round (93 rd overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft and wears No. 19 for the Wild.

McMillan, 25 (9/10/88), was recalled by Minnesota yesterday and did not appear in last night's game at Nashville.

Zucker, 21 (1/16/92), was recalled by Minnesota on Sunday and made his season debut with the Wild Tuesday at Nashville skating 13:13 and registered one shot on goal.
