Portland Pirates News Release
On Monday, the Portland Pirates announced a "Motorsports Weekend." The weekend starts on Friday, January 13, 2006 the Pirates host the Providence Bruins at 7:05 p.m. This game will include many events that feature a motorsports theme. On Saturday, 2005 American Idol, Carrie Underwood will host a concert at the Cumberland County Civic Center to benefit the Jeff Gordon Foundation.
Tickets for the concert are $45.00 and are on sale now at the Cumberland County Civic Center. Fans can visit the Civic Center box office or call 775-3458. Concert attendees will be treated with a complimentary collectible granite coaster of Carrie Underwood provided by Get-Etched.com.
On Monday, Ryan Getzlaf was named the CCM Vector/AHL Player of the Week.

IN THE COMMUNITY
On Thursday, December 22nd, the entire Portland Pirates team will be visiting the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital at Maine Medical Center from 1:30-2:30 p.m. to spread their holiday cheer with the kids at the hospital.
Pirates players, Dustin Penner, Aaron Rome, Jon Awe and Kenny Smith will join the Shipyard Brewing Company at Bull Feeney's Restaurant on Thursday,December 22nd from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. to select a winner for the trip to Dublin, Ireland!
