P-Bruins Defeat Manchester 4-1

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins defeated the Manchester Monarchs 4-1 Friday night at the Dunkin' Donuts Center led by Nathan Robinson's three point evening. Robinson had two goals and an assist to extend his point-scoring streak to six games. Eric Healey and Ben Guite had the other two P-Bruins goals.

The P-Bruins took a 1-0 lead late into the first period when Healey took a pass from Zdenek Blatny and back handed it off the cross bar and post and into the net past Manchester goaltender Adam Hauser.

Providence extended their lead to 2-0 in the second period after Robinson skated in between the circles and slid the puck past Hauser. Pascal Pelletier had an assist for his first AHL point, while Ben Walter had the other assist. The P-Bruins extended their lead to 3-0 when Robinson scored his second goal of the game on a blast from the near circle. Michael Schutte and Pelletier had the assist. The Monarchs cut the lead to two heading into the second intermission when Yanick Lehoux scored for the Monarchs on a 5 on 3 power play. Denis Grebeshkov and Jeff Tambellini had the assists.

The P-Bruins added an insurance goal in the third period when Guite scored on the power play. Walter added his second assist of the night, while Robinson recorded his third point of the evening as the P-Bruins went on to a 4-1 victory. The P-Bruins are now 12-12-1-1 on the season.

Tim Thomas stopped 23 of 24 shots in net for Providence, while Hauser stopped 21 of 25. The P-Bruins were 1 for 6 on the power play, while the Monarchs went 1 for 8 on the man advantage.
