Pirates Send McCaffrey and Eddy to South Carolina

PORTLAND, ME - Portland Pirates Head Coach Tim Army announced today that right wing Cam McCaffrey and goaltender Justin Eddy have been sent on loan to the South Carolina Stingrays (ECHL).

McCaffrey played in 19 games for the Pirates compiling 36 penalty minutes and did not register any points. At the start of the season, he was sidelined for over a month with a hand injury.

Eddy, in his rookie season, played in 11 games between the pipes for the Pirates. At the time of the transaction, he had a .863 save percentage and a goals against average of 3.65. Eddy had his best performance on home ice with 35 saves in the Pirates shoot out loss to Albany on November 13, 2004.

The Pirates will look to extend their two game winning streak on Friday, January 28th against the Manchester Monarchs at 7:35 p.m. in Manchester, NH.

The Pirates next home game will be Saturday, Hockey Night in Portland as the Pirates face the Providence Bruins 7:05 p.m. It will be Dunkin' Donuts Night! The first 2,500 fans will receive a Dunkin' Donuts travel mug and free hot chocolate samples will be available in the lobby. It will also be New England Patriots Cheerleaders Night. The cheerleaders will perform during the first intermission, and sign autographs during the second intermission.
