
Kesler named to AHL PlanetUSA All-Stars

Today, the Manitoba Moose, in conjunction with the American Hockey League announced Manitoba Moose forward Ryan Kesler has been named to the PlanetUSA AHL All-Star team for the 2005 Dodge AHL All-Star Classic to be held February 13th & 14th, 2005 at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, NH.
Kesler, 20, is in his second season with the Moose. So far, the Livonia, MI native has scored 19 goals and 19 assists for 38 points in 44 games which is third in team scoring. Those are career professional highs. Last season, Kesler scored three goals and 11 points with the Moose in his rookie year. He also played in 28 games with the NHL's Vancouver Canucks and recorded two goals and five points, along with 16 penalty minutes.

Last season, Kesler also won a gold medal with Team USA at the IIHF Under-20 Hockey Championships held in Helsinki, Finland. It was the first gold medal ever won by the Americans at the World Juniors. Kesler scored three goals in six tournament games.
He was originally drafted in the first round, 23rd overall, by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
