GRESHAM, OR - The Gresham GreyWolves connected on a season-high three doubles, complementing a 6-inning shutout start from David Wallum in a 5-0 win over the Yakima Valley Pippins on Saturday night at Oslund Field. Jens Jensen (Central Washington) took the loss for the Pippins (6-1), pitching six innings allowing two runs.

Hunter Hanson (College of Idaho) and Jay Schuyler (San Diego) led the Pippins each posting two hits, while Schuyler now lead the squad with a season-high seven game hit streak. Both Jace VanDeBrake (Gonzaga) and Kyle Stahl (Central Washington) connected on the other two hits for the Pippins, who left nine men on base in Saturday's loss.

Grant Ford (Nevada) threw a scoreless inning of relief in the 8th inning, while Chris Ceballos (Fullerton) worked out two walks in the losing effort.

Will Matthiessen delivered a 2-RBI double off Jens Jensen, giving the GreyWolves (3-3) an early 2-0 lead. The score would remain the same until the bottom of the 7th inning when Gresham added three more runs. Saturday night's loss ended the Pippins undefeated start in West Coast League, winning the series on Friday night with an impressive 9-3 win, building off Thursday night's 4-3 comeback win.

The Pippins return to action Sunday at 5:05 p.m. for Military Appreciation Night against the Kitsap BlueJackets, the first of a two-game home stand at Yakima County Stadium. The first place Pippins are now 5-1 on the road this season after getting shutout for the first time all year.
