Pina Punishes Drillers

TULSA, OK- Manny Pina blasted a three-run home run as the Northwest Arkansas Naturals defeated the Tulsa Drillers on Tuesday night at ONEOK Field. The home run was the fourth of the season for Pina.

Carlo Testa put the Naturals on the board first with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the second inning. Rey Navarro followed with an RBI single to make it 2-0.

The Naturals offense was not done, taking advantage of a Drillers error to score another run in the top of the fourth and make it 3-0. Pina delivered a decisive blow with a three-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to make it a 6-0 game.

Brian Fletcher tacked on another run with an RBI double in the top of the sixth inning that made it a 7-0 game. The Drillers' starter Parker Frazier went six innings allowing 11 hits and seven runs, six of which were earned. Frazier walked just one and struck out seven.

Sugar Ray Marimon turned in his best start in Double-A this season. The Naturals' right-hander went seven shutout innings scattering three hits, while walking three and striking out just one.

Angelys Nina got the Drillers on the board in the bottom of the eighth inning with an RBI single off of Ryan Dennick that made it 7-1. Dennick worked the final two innings allowing three hits and one run, to preserve the win.

The Naturals will continue a three-game series in Tulsa on Wednesday night at 7:05 PM. The Naturals will send left-hander Noel Argulles (2-11, 7.58) against the Drillers left-hander Josh Outman (1-3, 3.94). The game can be heard on ESPN 92.1 The Ticket.
