Pigs lose finale on Sunday night

(Allentown, PA) - The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (13-11) drop the finale to the Worcester Red Sox (15-9) 2-0 on Sunday evening. The game last six innings before the tarp was placed on the field.

David Parkinson (0-2) got the start for the Pigs. He gave up one run over 4 1/3 innings as Tate Matheny hit an RBI single in the top of the fourth inning. Franchy Cordero hit a home run off David Paulino in the top of the fifth inning to give Worcester a 2-0 lead.

John Schreiber pitched one inning to start the game before passing things over to Stephen Gonsalves (2-1) who struck out nine batters over five innings to get the win for the WooSox. The Pigs just managed three hits throughout the course of the game.

Lehigh Valley is off on Monday and will begin a six-game road trip on Tuesday in Moosic against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders.
