Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will begin a three-game set with the Pawtucket Red Sox on Monday night at Coca-Cola Park at 7:05 p.m. The Pigs come in at 12-10 on the year and sit in second place in the North Division after splitting a rain-shortened series with Buffalo. Pawtucket enters the series at 11-12 and has dropped four in a row after being swept by Syracuse over the weekend.
RHP David Buchanan (0-1, 4.58) heads to the hill for the IronPigs on Monday night. Buchanan got a no-decision on April 24 at Pawtucket after giving up three runs on nine hits while fanning three over 6.2 IP. The right-hander has walked just four batters over 17.2 IP in his three starts this season.
RHP William Cuevas (2-1, 3.86) will get the ball for manager Kevin Boles' squad in the series opener. Cuevas allowed three hits over seven shutout innings and got the win on April 25 vs. Syracuse. The Caracas, Venezuela native got the win against the Pigs back on April 15 when he surrendered three runs on seven hits in 6.2 IP as part of a 6-5 PawSox victory at Coca-Cola Park that night.
IronPigs OF Nick Williams has hit safely in his last seven games. During that time, Williams is hitting .448-1-6 (13-29, 3B, 5 R, BB).
