Martinez Named Batavia Downs Player of the Week

Rochester Red Wings pitcher David Martinez has been named the Batavia Downs Gaming and Racetrack Player of the Week for the period of April 25-May 1.

Martinez made two starts during the week, a no decision in Buffalo April 26 and a win at home against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre May 1. Martinez logged 13.2 innings and allowed 10 hits, just two earned runs and a walk, while striking out 11. For the season, Martinez has a 1-1 record with a 2.84 ERA in six games (three starts).
