Philadelphia Union News Release
Chester, Pa. (August 10, 2011) - Philadelphia Union welcome their supporters to PPL Park for the first-ever Philadelphia Union Supporters Summit on Wednesday, August 17 from 7-9 p.m. EST. This open forum will give all registered Sons of Ben members the opportunity to engage in direct dialogue with leaders of the Union and Major League Soccer.
"This event is a continuation of our commitment to maintaining open lines of communication with the Sons of Ben at all times," said Union CEO & Operating Partner Nick Sakiewicz. "It's no secret that the Sons of Ben are a vital part of our fan experience, so it's important that we're all looking towards the future through the same lens. Hearing from a wider audience than usual provides a fantastic opportunity to lay everything out on the table and figure out the best possible direction for the sustained growth of the club and supporter culture surrounding it."
In order to attend the event, supporters must be registered members of the Sons of Ben. The Sons of Ben will distribute an RSVP form via email to their members. Sitting in the River End is not a requirement for admission to the event.
Club and League officials will answer questions about a variety of topics, including but not limited to: the Union style of play, the League schedule, game-day experiences, ticketing, stadium expansion, single table alignment and playoff structure.
All of these topics and more can be discussed with Union CEO & Operating Partner Nick Sakiewicz, Team Manager Peter Nowak, Captain Faryd Mondragon and MLS Commissioner Don Garber.
Parking Lot B will be available for this event at no cost to attendees. Limited concession stands will be open and serving food at a reduced rate.
Members of the media are welcome to attend but are asked to contact a member of Philadelphia Union's Communications Department by Tuesday, August 16 at 2:00 p.m. EST to reserve their spot.
